Comics Camp 2010!

100_1954

This past week, at the Gallery at the Vault in Springfield, VT, I led a cartooning camp for 10-14 year olds. It was so awesome.

Drawing Comics!

I've been teaching and doing workshops for a couple years now, and I was starting to feel like it was getting harder, not easier. (I've mentored before too, which I love...it's completely different from leading a whole class though).

This past week I realized it just takes one really great group of kids to make you realize that you can actually do it, that it's fun and rewarding, and that maybe, just maybe, you could do it again sometime.

Connor and "Doofuz and Dare"

This group totally blew me away, they were excited and did everything I asked them to do, and we had a blast--on the last day, we had a mini comic convention...they all had traded their comics with each other, then they sat behind tables while parents went around and asked them about their comics. It was the cutest greatest thing I've ever seen.

Kristin and "Cheese and the Crayon Battle"

Soon I'll put up a more detailed list of what we did at the camp.
